TEMO, the AI tutor that helps students understand instead of handing them the answer

Published · by Abdellah El Ghazi, founder of TeamElGhazi

Short answer: TEMO is TeamElGhazi's AI tutor for students from middle school to university. A student sends a question, a photo of an exercise or a lesson file, and TEMO gives a hint, checks each attempt and stays with them until they get it, in French, Arabic or English. You can try it free: 10 questions every 6 hours.

TEMO, TeamElGhazi's AI tutor that builds understanding: a hint, not the answer, from middle school to university

Why a tutor that holds back the answer

A student who copies an answer can't redo the exercise on test day. TEMO is built around that. With every message it decides how to help, based on the question, the student's level and what they've already tried. It can ask one or two questions that move them forward a step (Socratic mode), give a clue, then a similar example, then the method while leaving the last step to the student (scaffolding), or explain a rule or definition in full and then check understanding with a question (direct mode).

A TEMO session, step by step

Diagram of a TEMO session in 4 steps: I'm stuck, a hint, I'm moving, I got it
  1. The student sends the exercise as a photo, or the lesson as a PDF, Word, PowerPoint or Excel file (up to 8 MB).
  2. TEMO reads the task, gives the method and the first step, then lets the student carry on.
  3. It checks every attempt. When it helps, it offers a mind map or a PDF revision sheet; with a test the next day, it prepares one without being asked.
  4. The student gets there alone. Across conversations, TEMO remembers their level and where they tend to get stuck; the "My progress" space shows strengths, topics to review and next steps.

Who is it for?

Students

A question at 10 pm, an exercise that won't budge, a test tomorrow: TEMO answers straight away and stays until the student gets there.

Tutoring centres and private tutors

Your students keep working between sessions, with a tutor that won't do their homework for them. Guided set-up and an invoice in the centre's name.

Schools and universities

A pilot class set up with your team, at the pace of your lessons. Priced on quote, based on the number of students.

Parents

TEMO refuses to do your child's homework. Conversations stay private and delete themselves after 60 days.

All the tools, in one conversation

  • Attach a photo or a file (PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Dictate a question.
  • Search the web: TEMO summarises what it finds and cites its sources with links.
  • Flashcard quizzes, mind maps, PDF revision sheets and presentations.
  • Pick up earlier conversations.

Subjects: maths, physics and chemistry, life and earth sciences, French, Arabic, English, history and geography, philosophy, computer science and programming, economics and business.

Tutoring centres: students keep going between sessions

For a tutoring centre or a private tutor, TEMO takes over between lessons: students ask questions when they get stuck at home and turn up to the next session with their real difficulties. The teacher stays in charge of the syllabus. The Centre or professional plan gives each of your students student access, with guided set-up and an invoice in the centre's name. If you'd also like to automate enrolments, absences or reminders to families, see our automation and AI service and the worked example in letting families know about an absence the same day.

Schools: start with a pilot class

  1. You get in touch: school name, number of students, levels and subjects.
  2. We set up the pilot class with your team, at the pace of your lessons.
  3. Your students start: they sign in with a code sent by email or with Google.

Priced on quote, based on the number of students. A company or foundation can also fund TEMO for a class or a school through our Digital Education sponsorship programme.

Who built TEMO?

TEMO is designed, built and published by TeamElGhazi, a Casablanca company (26 rue Nahas Nahoui, Maarif) working on artificial intelligence, automation and training, founded by computer science teacher Abdellah El Ghazi (founder's note). TEMO was made possible by the Claude for Startups programme and runs on Claude, Anthropic's AI model. To learn to use AI yourself, see our courses and the AI training in Morocco page.

Frequently asked questions

What is TEMO?

TEMO is an AI tutor and homework helper for students from middle school to university. It is designed, built and published by TeamElGhazi in Casablanca, Morocco. Students ask a question, send a photo of an exercise or a PDF of their lesson, and TEMO guides them with a hint rather than the solution.

Does TEMO do students' homework for them?

No. For an exercise, it gives the method and the first step, then checks each attempt. The full worked answer only comes once the student has genuinely tried. A concept from the lesson, on the other hand, it explains in full, with examples.

Is TEMO free?

Yes, to try it: 10 questions every 6 hours, with the same tools. Paid plans exist for students, for tutoring centres and professionals, and for schools (on quote). Current prices are on temoby.teamelghazi.com.

Which subjects and levels does it cover?

Middle school to university: maths, physics and chemistry, life and earth sciences, French, Arabic, English, history and geography, philosophy, computer science and programming, economics and business.

Which language does TEMO answer in?

The language of the message: French, Arabic or English. It also understands Moroccan Darija. PDF revision sheets and mind maps come out in the student's language, with Arabic laid out right to left.

What files can students send?

A photo of an exercise, a PDF, a Word document, a PowerPoint deck or an Excel sheet, up to 8 MB. Students can ask for a summary, an explanation or practice exercises based on their own lesson.

How does a tutoring centre use TEMO?

The centre picks the Centre or professional plan: each of its students gets student access, set-up is guided and the invoice is in the centre's name. Students work with TEMO between sessions; the teacher stays in charge of the course.

How do we equip a class or a school?

We set up a pilot class with your team. You tell us the school, the number of students, the levels and the subjects; students then sign in with a code sent by email or with Google. Pricing is on quote, based on the number of students.

What happens to conversations?

They stay private. Students can delete them themselves, and they are erased automatically after 60 days. What TEMO remembers about a student is deleted with the account, on request to contact@teamelghazi.com.

How do I subscribe?

Write to TeamElGhazi with the plan you want and proof of eligibility (student, centre or school). Once we've checked it, we send our bank details; the plan is activated as soon as the transfer arrives. Bank details are never published on the website.
